Introduction: Presentation of the trainees, identification of the group's level of knowledge and the expectations of each trainee, and presentation of the teaching method adapted to the context of the session by the trainer. The trainer then presents the training objectives and the following program:
- Carry out a complete initial safety study of the PI, taking into account the relevant safety assessment of the port facility;
- Ensure the development and updating of the PI's security plan;
- Implement the PI security plan (PSIP) and carry out exercises to this end;
- Carry out regular security inspections of the PI to ensure that security measures remain appropriate;
- Recommend and incorporate any necessary amendments to the PSIP to rectify deficiencies, and update the plan to take account of relevant changes affecting the PI;
- Increase safety awareness and vigilance of PI personnel;
- Ensure that personnel responsible for PI safety are adequately trained;
- Report to the appropriate authorities and keep a record of events that threaten the PI's safety;
- Coordinate the implementation of the PI security plan with the relevant company and ship security officer(s);
- Coordinate with the relevant public security authorities;
- Ensure that the standards applicable to PI security personnel are respected.
- Ensure that security equipment is properly used, tested, calibrated and maintained.
- Assist the ship's security officer in confirming, on request, the identity of persons seeking to board the ship.
Conclusion: Questions/answers, consolidation and evaluation of acquired knowledge, assessment and evaluation of training.
FOR PARTICIPANTS
To ensure the effectiveness of this training course, the trainee will have, before the start of the training, familiarized himself/herself with the conditions for carrying out this training session, defined in this training description as well as in the Trainee's Welcome Booklet (Methods of carrying out the training, Applicable hygiene rules, Disciplinary rules and applicable sanctions).

TARGET AUDIENCE
This training course is intended for permanent or substitute security officers of port facilities subject to the ISPS Code.
OBJECTIVE
To acquire the skills to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the Port Facility Security Officer as defined in section A/17.2 of the ISPS Code.
PREREQUISITES
No prerequisites.
TEACHING METHOD
The training session is led by a SURTYMAR trainer with a PowerPoint presentation and discussion with trainees.
DURATION
16 hours of training, including practical test and 6 15-minute breaks.
AUDITORY
12 trainees maximum (no minimum).
TRAINER
This training course is led and supervised by a trainer with expertise and experience in implementing the knowledge and concepts taught.
