- Failure of security equipment, techniques used by pirates to board ships at sea, techniques used by malicious persons to board ships in port.
- Measures to enhance maritime security
- Security equipment and systems, security levels, searches of ship, spaces, unaccompanied baggage, access control, handling of security-sensitive information and communications
- Passenger management and control techniques
- General behavioral patterns of people in groups, importance of clear communication with shipboard personnel, port facility staff, passengers and others involved
- Theoretical approach to physical searches of persons (security palpations), personal effects, baggage, packages, cargo on loading and ship's stores on embarkation.

PUBLIC CONCERNED
SS2 is aimed at all seafarers, navigation personnel and on-board seafarers with specific security responsibilities or tasks on board (guarding, human surveillance, access control, screening, baggage inspection, security checks, rounds, patrols, etc.).
OBJECTIVE
- To be able to contribute to the reinforcement of maritime security
- be able to carry out ship inspections
- use security equipment and systems appropriately
PREREQUISITES
Up-to-date seafarers' medical examination
TEACHING METHOD
The training is led by a SURTYMAR trainer with a PowerPoint presentation and a discussion with the trainees.
DURATION
10 hours of training, including written test and 4 15-minute breaks
AUDITORY
12 trainees maximum (no minimum)
TRAINER
This training course is led and supervised by a trainer with expertise and experience in implementing the knowledge and concepts taught. The trainer's CV is available on request.
